What You Will be Doing:
We are currently looking for an exceptionally talented Front-End Engineer to join our small team. You will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of our WebApp and will collaborate closely with our designer and back-end engineering team. Since you’ll be joining an early-stage startup at the ground level, you’ll need to be able to wear multiple hats and thrive while working in a dynamic environment. 

Transform UI/UX wireframes into a full-featured WebApp: You will lead the development of our new WebApp, making it easier for our customers to access our core product. This will require close collaboration with both the engineering and product teams.

Own the front-end stack and lead front-end architecture efforts: As the lead Front-End Engineer you’ll be responsible for defining and owning the front-end development experience. You will also need to architect efficient and reusable front-end modules and systems that support scale. 

Ensure a high quality user experience through high quality code: The WebApp will be the main customer touch point for our product. As a result, it will not only need to be intuitive it will also need to be reliable and secure. You will be responsible for ensuring that WebApp meets our SLAs and fails gracefully if there are any back-end issues. 


What You Must Bring:

3+ years professional experience shipping front-end code
Strong computer science foundations
Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQueryExperience with ReactJS or Angular

What You Will be Doing:

We are currently looking for an exceptionally talented Machine Learning Engineer to join our small team. You will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of scalable Machine Learning systems — from data pipelines, to training, to analyzing performance in a production environment. Since you’ll be joining an early-stage startup at the ground level, you’ll need to be able to wear multiple hats and thrive while working in a dynamic environment. 

Design and train new production-ready machine learning models. You will lead the development of new machine learning models focused on converting a wide variety of data sets (e.g., ship sensors, weather, market rates) into actionable insights. You will apply fundamental machine learning concepts to quickly iterate and debug model related issues and develop new techniques to handle unique cases with each customer. 

Collect, process and analyze data. A big part of our machine learning projects is understanding and analyzing the data. You must build pipelines and processes for cleaning and organizing data as well as build tools to help analyze data. You must also understand what types of data models are struggling with and use this analysis to propose solutions.

Analyze and improve existing models. You will also be responsible for analyzing performance of our existing models and work to improve their accuracy by applying the latest published research, feature engineering and tuning of hyperparameters.


What You Must Bring:

3+ years professional experience designing, training and deploying machine learning models
Strong computer science foundation including data structures, algorithms and design patterns
Expertise in Python demonstrated by implementing multiple medium to large scale projects
Proven ability to implement and debug machine learning models
Excellent communication skills and the ability to have in-depth technical discussions with both the engineering team and business people
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch)

We will audit and monitor AI systems in order to instill confidence around AI in the public sector, the private sector, and the general public. As a result, we provide an independent, third-party stamp of approval certifying an AI system with respect to a specific use case, either involving efficacy or bias. In doing so, we are creating the standard for certain use cases as well as the broader playbook for AI regulation. This stamp of approval enables adoption and improvement of AI systems without fear of penalties from regulators or negative press. If companies have taken the right steps with us and placed the right governance infrastructure in place, they can scale their AI technology with confidence.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Define the beachhead of the project to achieve the long term vision of creating a standard to enable trustworthy and robust AI development and deployment
  • Operationalize and execute on our partnership with a large tech company (and develop additional partnerships based on our leads in highly regulated industries) by co-creating the standard for AI regulation and the playbook for proactive, responsible AI regulation that can be presented to regulatory bodies.
  • Drive relationships with regulatory bodies and regulated industries to further refine the idea, develop partnerships, sign POC contracts, and cultivate potential customers.

What you will be doing:
 
Be part of the team that builds the best AI solutions to solve today’s critical issues in healthcare, financial services, human capital, logistics and more. This is not your traditional product marketing job, as you will be part of the Startup Studio’s investment team that assess market needs, understands customer pain points, and ideates on how to best solve a given problem. Once the idea is funded, you will cycle back to create the next best idea.
 
Work on a cross-functional team
As part of the investment team, you will be the product marketing lead that works on uncovering customer insights and spot opportunities ahead of time. You will keep the team on track to be able to succinctly explain core customer insights, market drivers, product/service benefits, value-based messaging, amongst other things.
 
Strategy
You will deeply understand a given marketplace and help define the "why," "what," and "when" in the build process, and develop key messages that offer unique value propositions to the stakeholders, as well as how it stands out from the competition. You have deep experience understanding product/services landscapes, competitive analysis, competitive threats, and can anticipate market shifts.
 
Customer development
Your focus will be to study the market to uncover a need in a marketplace and understand key stakeholder personas and pain points. You will thrive on talking to customers to understand and validate their pain points. As you move through the build process, you will develop scenarios on how to best solve the pain points of the stakeholders and help move the process through to ideation and then to an MVP.
 
Go-to-market
You have been there and done that and know what it takes to get a product/service to market. How will you get to the right audience, with the best solution at the right time? With your expertise, you will be the lead for developing go-to-market recommendations for the idea to succeed.

What You Will be Doing:
-Develop TalkTime’s overall technology strategy and software architecture
-Evaluate buy/build/partner options and implement systems infrastructure 
-Ensure security, scalability and performance of overall technology infrastructure
-Manage an initial 3-person technical team and grow that team, initially with two open headcount
-Evangelize the company’s technology plan, capabilities and vision with executives, customers, investors, employees and other key stakeholders
-Work intimately with early customers, both end users and enterprises, to rapidly incorporate feedback and build an optimal product solution
-Align company’s technology development plan with the company’s business goals
-Develop unique, proprietary (and ideally patentable) intellectual property that yields competitive advantage
-Drive system infrastructure decisions to ensure performance and capital efficiency
-Define quality assurance, security, compliance and data protection processes
-Manage within target KPIs, project timelines, and overall budgetary goals

What You Must Bring:

Must Haves:
-8-10 years of experience, both as an individual contributor and manager.
-Entrepreneurial spirit -- someone who can simultaneously think big, but also grounded in the immediate, practical, get-stuff-done mindset of a startup.
-Previous startup experience is the best way to evaluate this skill.
-Strategic vision -- need someone who is passionate about what we are doing and how it will make our customers’ lives better.
-Deep knowledge of the latest technologies and engineering trends, tools and platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills -- both interpersonal as well as presentation and customer-facing skills.
-Understanding of budgets and project planning with an adept ability to prioritize and focus on the most critical projects first.
-Ability to conduct technology analyses/evaluations, infrastructure decisions and deep code reviews.
-Hands-on development expertise, particularly in AI, machine learning, NLP or related field, with the ability to write and review code themselves.
-Deep leadership and organizational development skills, with the ability to attract, assess, hire and retain top technical talent.
-Growth mindset with a love of solving problems and a willingness to know one’s own knowledge limitations.
-BSc/BA in Computer Science/Engineering from top-tier institution.
-Previous technical leadership experience required at least at a director level.
-Well-tuned organizational skills, translating to predictable delivery and deadline achievement, along with the ability to consider prioritization trade-offs.

Nice to Haves:
-Prior experience as a CTO and member of an executive/founding team a plus
-Masters/PhD in Computer Science or an MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
-Located in the Bay Area and willing to work from our Palo Alto office preferred, but open to remote candidates.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Mobile Engineer who will work with a team of engineers building and maintaining our future mobile application. Based in Medellin, Colombia, this will be a key role within our client’s engineering team, requiring mobile development experience with React Native or Swift. You will work closely with the team to quickly execute and iterate on the product on its path to product market fit. 

Here’s what you will do:
Provides programming expertise and business analysis skills within an assigned business area, usually as a member of a project team, in analyzing, designing, modifying, and developing business applications. Prepares programming specifications from which programs will be written, and designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents program. Prepares programming documentation and recommends changes in development, maintenance and application standards. Complies with architectural standards and established methodologies and practices.

Here’s the background we’d like you to have:
3+ years of end-to-end release experience in iOS mobile development.
• At least 2 years of experience in Swift.
• Proficiency in Facebook's React Native framework is preferred.
Experience developing Android apps is a plus. 
Experience packaging apps into an SDK.
Demonstrable samples of high-quality mobile UI experiences. 
Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
Experience analyzing app performance to refine features and drive adoption.
Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Workera is building a self-assessment platform connecting job seekers to employers in AI. The product is a two-sided marketplace where:

What You Will be Doing:

  • Strategy and Planning. You will participate in shaping company strategy. This includes Positioning, Go-To-Market and Marketing strategies. 
  • Executive leadership. Ability to grow, manage and scale a sizable team. S/he should have prior experience managing and mentoring at least teams of size about 25 or larger, ideally even much larger. S/he should also help Workera put in place sound management systems and processes to ensure smooth running of the organization.  
  • Business Leadership. S/he will be responsible for building up the business functions of the company. This includes finding and selling to Workera’s enterprise customers, and maintaining relationships over time as we help companies hire better using Workera’s technology and processes. S/he will also manage the recruiting team supporting our placement business and monitor their performance.
  • Marketing and Customer Aquisition. Able to oversee the company’s marketing activities, and drive both B2C and B2B customer acquisition through marketing.
