Eva Wang

As Partner, COO, and General Counsel for AI Fund, Eva oversees finance, legal, HR, investor relations, and general office administration for the Fund. An experienced corporate securities lawyer, Eva brings a wealth of expertise in advising technology startups, including formation and launch, fundraising, and other corporate and commercial transactions, to AI Fund’s portfolio of companies.

Eva was part of AI Fund’s initial founding team. Prior to joining the Fund, she was a partner at noted Silicon Valley law firm Fenwick & West in their corporate practice, representing technology startups and venture capital firms. Fluent in Mandarin, she also led the opening of the Shanghai office for two US law firms. Eva holds a law degree from New York University and a bachelor’s in economics and statistics from the University of Western Ontario.

“I see startups that develop some cool technology but are challenged to find the best use case or the go-to-market strategy for it. One of the things I’ve learned is the importance of first clearly understanding and defining the problem, and only after that developing the product/solution or technology to solve the problem, rather than the other way around,” she says.

When she’s not helping build new companies, Eva enjoys unwinding in her kitchen, trying out a new dessert recipe. “Baking is somewhat therapeutic and while I’m not saying the end result is always great, it’s always fun to eat. It’s something I can do myself or enjoy the process with my kids,” she says.
